Ok, so I finally got my 2011 Ex Limited - LOVE it!

Has anyone figured out a way to access/transfer favorite addresses to the Navigation system? I have a ton of addresses in my Garmin that I would like to NOT transfer manually.

Also, I understand that in the case a Master Reset is needed, It wipes out your favorite addresses. It would be nice to be able to back these up, obviously...

I think the explorer navigation system only allows you to store 3 favorite destinations. I dont think you can tranfer destinations from another GPS device to the navigation system in your explorer.

I also have a Garmin GPS that is backed up. Would like to import contacts/favorites into my new 2011 Explorer SYNC GPS. Manual entry will be painful for the number of contacts I have.
I've already tried backing up the SD card, added a single contact to the GPS contacts and ran a compare of the two copies. There were zero files changed. Tells me the contacts/favorites database is not saved onto the SD card.
Has anyone figured this out yet? Ford please respond.

The information would not be saved on the SD card as that card is a read only card.

Not really what you are asking...but what about a transfer of the addresses from google maps?

I think the explorer navigation system only allows you to store 3 favorite destinations.

I already have over 15 destinations programmed into my "Favorites" category, so it holds more than 3. Probably hundreds.
