Hello.

I own a '98 Explorer, 4x4, V8.

OK, so, a few days ago, I was driving around and at one point I needed to back up. My friend had oppened the passengar side door when I started to back up, and then all of a sudden the antenna started going down. Now, since I've owned this car, only about 9 months, I've never seen the antenna go down, never had a need for it to go down.

Problem is, I can't get it back up. Can't find a switch or knob or anything.

Any help?

Lately, on random occasions, when I use my turn signal, I get a really fast clicking sound. Once I put the turn signal back down to the middle position, and go back, it's fine.

Any help on that as well?

And finally, can anyone tell me what the "off-road" function does? I've driven with the switch both ways, but can not tell a difference between the two.

Thanks for any replies.

The antenna should go up when the radio is turned on and come back down when the radi is turned off. If somehow the door is affecting it, then there is a short somewhere or something, maybe check the wires since the amplifier of the system is behind the rear bench seat behind the plastic interior (on the passenger's side).

The connector for the power antenna is under the passenger side foot trim panel-look for a 4 wire plug with a green, blue, red and, black wire-( IIRC)
