I've finally got an Explorer that I can show you all.

Before: (Very Uneven)

Add some lift springs:

and After:

It's now sitting on 33 inch TrXus MTs.
15x8 Procomp Rock Crawler wheels (backspacing 3.75")
I purchased the 2" lift springs from customsuspenion.com
I made my own shackles that are only about an inch longer than stock so 1/2 inch more lift.
Around 2" of lift on the front from torsion bar adustment (needed longer screws to get it that high).
The only rubbing was on a piece of plastic trim, which easily came off.
I still plan to trim the fender a little, because it is awfully close.

You have to let us know how they perform down the road. Im not tryin to be a downer but majority of issues with the trxs are sidewall blowouts on the highway. Dont know if they solved it. Ive always wanted to try them, id love to try in a 35

So far the tires are loud at high speed and you can feel the vibration from the big lugs just rolling down the street at slow speed. That's probably partially because the super stiff front suspension due to the TT. I don't mind either one though. I'm sure they'll do awesome in the mud to compensate. Now it just needs to rain.

I did notice a rub spot where the inner fender well comes down a little farther to cover where the fender bolts on. I'll hopefully be trimming it tomorrow. I can post some pics if people want to see how it goes.

Lot of negative camber showing in the head on pic. Need to get some camber adjusters on there and straighten up the front alignment or those tires are going to be ruined quick.

I already got it aligned this morning, so no need to fret. I've been rolling on $25 used Wranglers for about 9 months now and they're nearly gone on the inside. Thanks for noticing though.

I had a set of Truxus MT's on my sport and never had any problems with them. Most of the sidewall blow out stories I heard were from people using them on 1 ton pickups. They are awesome in the snow and off road.

Thanks for all the input about the tires. I'm very excited to try these out now that the tires don't rub anywhere. Mud would be nice, but we haven't seen rain for months and won't be getting any soon.

Sorry I didn't do a write up about the fender trimming. My camera batteries died after a few pictures, so there's not much to show. I pushed the inner fender well back about 1.5", so I've got enough clearance to hit some trails without worry.

Sorry, I got the brush guard off of a friend's dead explorer. I'll ask her where she got it, but I think it came on the truck. It was pretty beat up when I got it, so I cleaned it up and painted it along with the font bumper. I plan to paint the fender flares black and make a new rear bumper. Perhaps one with a swing open tire mount. All black is the ultimate plan. "murdered out" I believe it's called.
