It has been a long Summer fixing codes... been slowy dropping MPG efficiency down to 15 MPG on a good day... used to be 20-23.

Since August...
P1405 - DPFE upstream hose plugged or off
P0442 - EVAP leak - small
P0141 - O2 sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

P1405
Bought DPFE module and installed... code came back. Checked hoses... plugged in and appeared intact... however after second look... portion of hose had a long oval shaped tear ... out of view. Had to remove module a second time... and broke the (white pvc) intake vacuum line at EGR solenoid.
Crap... spliced back together... and replaced torn line with silicone rubber.

P0442
Been a reoccuring prioblem at the cannisters @ sensor... corroded/broken. Went to boneyard for sensor and dropped the bolted cannister tray. Replaced sensor and applied silicone goop at fittings to help seal, support, and reinforce connection. Bolted back in place and wrapped a few bungee chords to reinforce tray as a whole.

P0141
The hardest part was the best price... (2) Motorcraft factory O2 sensors = $50 + s/h (total) for both (ebay). OK! Replaced both downstream sensors.

The final aspect was adding leaf spring helpers (Superior). The desired effect was not lift... but assist in rear end loads during towing. Couldn't lose much @ $29.00 (AutoZone).

Cleared the codes... went on a 100 mile ride.

First impressions... WOW!!!

The 302 woke up and said giddy-up! The accelleration has not ever been this sensitive. Have to take a gentle effort on the gas now. The rear axle has no dip, sag, or body roll under load... instant traction.

The truck feels young again!!!

lucky!!!! lol im working on mine one day hopefully mine will be like that
