Last Tuesday I ordered the Bi-Xenon 6000k HID kit from VVME.com and I also ordered Euro Clear headlights + corners off of ebay. Against what some have said about VVME's delivery time I received my kit Friday, but DHL wouldn't leave since I wasn't at home and had to wait until monday. I received my new headlights on Tuesday and my dad and I proceeded to do the "easy install" the directions implied. My dad and I are both pretty much mechanically and electrically at a loss when it comes to most things like this, so the easy 1 and half to 2 hour intall took a little longer then that. We also managed to make one of the amber bulbs to stop working on the driver side so I have to replace that now. Anyway heres what you have been waiting for.... The Pictures!!!!

Front Stock. Eww thats ugly compared to what I got now.

Hope you enjoyed. Sorry for the quality, I took them with my iPhone this morning cause I forgot to take my camera last night when we installed them.

And now for the questions.

I think I have the wire mix up problem where my low beams are my high beams and vice versa. My question is where do you switch the wires at? Is it at the blue cap that plugs into where the stock halogen lights went? Also I may have missed this in the many threads I went through before I bought them but I can only switch between low and high beam if I have my fog lights turned off, if I leave the switch on (the one by the radio) and try to switch between them it just blinks but never changes to high or low.

Thanks for any feedback, comments, and answers.

Really no one has a answer. :(

Hey Jo ! Do you have the telescoping Bi-Xenon HID's which offer the high and low beam? As you know the stock 9007 bulbs are dual filament (high and low beam) from a single bulb. The telescoping HID's are supposed to move in and out to give you access to the respective high or low beam. I am just informing you of what I have read online and on the HID suppliers sites. I would double check the wiring and make sure you have everything connected and plugged in properly. They really should be working, just double check, it should not hurt to do so. Sorry no one else replied to your post. Good Luck ! :chug: Cheers !

Nice truck by the way, grille and lights look great !

looks nice keep up good work

Yes I have the Bi-Xenon HIDs, I don't have a issue with High beams not coming on my issue is there reversed. If I have my low beams on, my lights are on high beams, and if I have the high beams on my low beams are on. I just need to know the exact location of the wires I need to switch so I can control my highs and lows properly. And also the a answer to why I can't leave my fogs on. Thanks.

Sounds to me that the wires for the high beam and the wire for the low beam are reversed. Might happen if you had to wire in your HIDS yourself. Unless they were the direct plug in variety. You might check the wires to the relay provided with the HID's, and you might need a test light. I dont know what brand of HID kit you are using, but if you post it here, maybe someone else with the same brand or issue can help you. I am currently thinking about purchasing a set of Bi-Xenon HID's for my truck and have been shopping around. Probably will get some from a site called VVME although dont know what color yet. Hard to tell from website pictures what the colors really look like on the street in the real world. I do have quite a bit of mechanic experience but limited on electrical to basic troubleshooting. Your best friend in this situation is a test lite. :salute:

Yeh I have the kit from VVME, and its the P&P. I've read in other post that they sometimes come from the factory wired backwards, so I need to know where at on the HID kit I need to switch the wires. I'm thinking its going to be at the blue plug that plugs into where stock lights went. But I need to make sure before I just start cutting wires.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I have the VVME kit, you have to switch the wires at the blue plug... I used to know which colors were what.. but I've forgotten.. sorry.. it's an easy fix though... You might want to do something with that connector though... it likes to come loose and lose contact with your original wire harness.

And don't cut the wires, you can take a tiny screw driver.. and push in the pin to allow removal of the electrical contact thing...

Yes thank you, thats exactly what I needed to know.

Ok what about my fogs, its not a dire need to have my fogs but I like using them. Do you think if I switch the wires for my other problem it will fix the not being able to switch between high and low if my fogs are on?

Explain your problem?........ what..

You could do the fog light mod to have them "active" as long as the parking lights are on... that means you can have them on or off no matter what beam you're using.. even no beam!.. lol

Ok when we first hook them up and tested them they came on no problem, so I decided I would swtch between high and low beam, hit the swith on the steering wheel for high/low and nothing the lights just flickered but never changed. We thought we had some wiring issue so we turned them off and checked all the wires and it was fine. Retested the lights and I just happened to turn off my fogs using the button by the radio under the rear defroster button. And switched between high and low and now they worked. I really have no clue why but I can only switch between high/low if my fogs are off.

I plan on doing that mod as soon as I need to replace fog lights. Thanks again.

Im pretty sure 9004 and 9007 are the same bulb but have two wires switched. Im sure the manufacturer just made it one way to make it cheaper and you just have to switch the two wires on the HID harness.

I noticed something weird like that also.

I would just do the fog light mod.

(And honestly, the difference between high/low is minimal.) I wouldn't go out of your way to get it perfect.

Do the fog light mod, then your headlights and fog lights will be independent of each other.

I think my problem is like.. if I have my high's on.. and then turn on my aux lights (which are connected to the fog switch near the radio) it stays in the high beam selection even if I go back to low... until I turn off the aux lights... weird stuff... nothing to be worried about though..

Aight thanks I really appreciate all the help.

Also I'll get some night shots when it gets dark today and post them up.

I have a question for you now... Honestly... how much did the clear lenses help the lighting compared to the OEM ones? I'm still running OEM lenses. Even my clear corners are oem style.

I could tell a huge difference right away, I think if I still had the factory, hazed over headlights with the HIDs it still would put out a lot more light compared to stock but not as much as my new ones do. Unfortunately I don't have a comparison pic with the HIDs in the stock housing but I think you won't be dissapointed if you replace your stock housing.

See, the thing is.. my stock housings.. are new.. so that's where my problem comes into play... would the improvement (if any) be worth it?

My lenses used to look like your stockers, completely fogged up and just crap.. but when I had my front end fixed from an accident.. I had them replace all the lights with new ones..

Well my stock lights were horrible, they had never been replaced. So for you I guess HIDs with the new stock housing would be fine. But I don't really know since I've never seen them.

Here's some night shots for your viewing pleasure, I think I still need some adjusting let me know if you think so too. I think there off to the left to much when on high beam and I think the lows are angled down to much.
