Hi all,
I looking to modify my 02 mountaineer so that my fog light work with high beams. Their are several posts on how to do this on Pre 02 models.
Has anyone done this with 02 or later vehicle? Also want fogs on with auto lights...
Thanks

Welcome to the Forums!!

Don't know if your Mounty is set up the same way as my '04 Mustang, but here's a link to how it works for the 'stang.

Foglight Mod

i changed my entire bumper and put in the foglights aftermarket so a suggestion may be to run a new switch... unless that link ^he sent u works

My Explorer didn't come with foglights, so i also added them aftermarket. Instead of having a new switch, I just tied them into the parking lights, that way, they are on when the headlights are on, when the highbeams are on, and when the auto lights turn on. Just use a relay, and splice into the parking light power wire as your "switch".

Hey Bigzig,
Could you give me a little more info on the relay spliced into the light switch. What color is the parking light wire. Also have you had any issues with strain on electrical system since doing this?

Thanks
By the way the relay on the ex/mounty is diff. than the stang.

hey chris, sorry about replying so late, i've been away from the computer for a few days. Anyway, I'm looking at the Hanes manual right now, and its saying the left front parking lamp hot wire is either white/light blue OR light green/white. I can't exactly remember which wire mine was. I haven't seen any draw on the electrical system, I wouldn't worry about that. When you hook it up, obviously power and ground, and then splice the parking wire and plug it into the "switch" and hook up your fogs to the "accessory". I believe that is how I hooked mine up. I would make sure that works how you want it to, before you make it permanent. Hope that helps, and again, sorry about the delay.
Elliot
