Maybe not the usual jive...., but maybe some will find technical merit here. 2 weeks ago, preparing my shop to secure it for a long winter away with my wife and '04 Explorer, I fell off the bench and busted open my damn-fool skull.....got air-lifted to big hospital, the whole ball of wax, I remember none of it, though I never lost consciousness......she brought me home, we continued with "the plan", though Drs. told me not to drive, ......(I did anyway)....

The Expl. got loaded up FULL, all but the kitchen sink, just a skinny "tunnel" through to see out rear-view........our old farmhouse will surely freeze solid in mid-Missouri, all foods, canned goods, home-made wine, EVERYTHING went with us to AZ!

That 4.0L SOHC, 110K, turned in 21mpg overall, used no oil, the work I did on 5R55S (fill-tube w/dipstick) brazed to oil pan, bone-dry!, new solenoid module..... Very happy with this vehicle, it's our 3rd. Expl., '96 automatic 4.0L OHV, then '99 Manual, 4.0L OHV, the '96 had 200K, '99 180K, both still running fine when the '04 presented itself.............

I have "gray" areas in my memory, may get better, or worse, but as you can see (or read), writing is still one of the few things I ever did with little effort...

Realizing this is not a "lonely hearts club" here, but thought I would share.....
Thanks for reading........The "Snowbird" imp.

x2 on writing skills:thumbsup: did you find the flux capacitor tho?

...I'm still dealing with my head injury from over a year ago...:(

...Sorry to here about your incident...It took me 3-4 weeks before I started remembering parts of my accident and 6 months later I woke up to dizzy spells...

...Just do your normal stuff and if you start to get foggy or angry, take it easy for a bit and see if you feel better...Good luck with your recuperation in AZ...:biggthump

imp...
Sorry to hear about your incidient.
Glad to hear you're doing better!

Keep us posted. You have a good following on this board, that's for sure.

Ouch!

Lots of Love in your direction Imp.

:wavey: Steve, I'm glad you're alright and still got to do the whole snow bird thing. Take care of yourself. At least you won't have to keep stuffing the stove with wood this winter.;)

IMP good luck man, I have enjoyed your posts on here. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
We're dealing with some family issues/tragedy here this month so I haven't been on here too much.
But I do feel like you guys are all like a family here, you have all helped me out in some way with my ex.

I'm sorry to hear about that imp. I wish you a complete and quick recovery. Life is too fragile.

To: All Who Responded, so far:

I am truly touched! And I don't mean nuts, either. Rarely have I felt that warm glow one experiences if strangers express concern, especially in a realm as basically "cold" as the Internet.

Thank you all for taking the time..........imp :us:

Dude, hang in there. One of my best pals smoked a deer on a bike early this summer and experienced a head injury too. He struggled a bit for sure, but he is gradually getting better. Head injuries are scary stuff... all my best wishes for a full recovery.

Steve, I hope all is well. I haven't seen you around much. I imagine at this time of year you are doing the snowbird routine.

Take care,

Rondo

Funny how this thread has come back! OK with me, at least it's all that has haunted me related to busting open my head!

The lure of the desert life has re-called us, I'm afraid. After 20 years in hell (Phoenix), then 12 in beautiful, green, tree-covered (tic-infested, worst biting flies imaginable, crystal-clear year-'round creek, 7 inhabitants per square mile population density [shoot anything you want at any time, no one knows or cares], no zoning, no garbage pick-up, no Health Department, almost no cops, no dog-catcher).............Missouri Ozarks........

We have bought a damn house in Mohave County, Arizona! I am asking myself...."What the hell have we done now?" imp

Glad to hear your head is all good. Now you need to buy a bike to enjoy all that good weather.
