Ford Backpacks from Moab Run

Has anybody received the backpacks Ford promised us? They took everybody's e-mail and address, but I haven't heard a peep from them.
I wouldn't really care too much about it, but my grandson is a Ford fan (Mark Martin - Nascar) and I opened my big mouth and promised him the backpack. He's 9 years old and I don't want to disappoint him.
The problem is of course that I can't even go some other place and buy him one.

Peter, I think Gerald has an e-mail address for 1 of the ford people. I'm sure Rick can get ahold of them too. If nothing comes through I'll give mine up. I like it, but don't mind donating to a good cause. I consider it a fair exchange for the pictures you have provided this site. Let me know and I'll bring it to the Colors Run, if your going to be there.

Rob, I really appreciate the offer but that's not neccessary.
I would have thought your daughter would like it as a momento of her adventures at Moab.
I don't really want to have to take the attitude that you can't trust Ford and their promises. Some members here already have been disappointed enough to justify that mindset.

I talked to Vivian today. She said she just recived the backpacks a few days ago. She is leaving for California tonight, but she said she will try and get them sent out this coming Monday.

These backpacks were given away by Ford at the Moab Explorer run. I still haven't recieved mine yet...sniff...sniff.

Flyguy, they are backpacks that were originally produced for a discountinued Ford ad theme in Canada embracing the "Ford Outfitters" train of thought. The backpacks have that saying on the back with a mountain logo.

Unfortunately, Ford stopped that ad series because in Canada "Outfitters" carries the connotation of a complete supply shop (tents, gear, etc) and caused confusion concerning what was available at the local Ford parts dept.

I have a feeling that it took Vivian a little while to drum some up for the rest of the Moab group because she not only had to get them from her buddies in Canada, but also because they are part of a discountinued ad campaign.

I have serious doubts if others would be available to anyone.

I have to admit, when I see a Ford outfitters commercial, I wish they would create a full line of stuff to outfit us with.
