Im overseas and the ford dealer is trying to run a fast one on me it seems.

This is the issues:

Alternator- 321.23
Battery- 109.95
labor- 169.88

abs light sensor- 93.53
sensor is bad so the ABS is not working at all error code: c1165 c1175
labor -162.00

heater- 94.35
labor-430.95

I can find an alternator for half (160 @ autozone)
ABS sensor light - do the codes signify its just one of the 50$ speed sensors?
Heater - isnt this just the heat blend actuator that is a 45 minute job?

thanks for the input guys... nothin like a dealer screwin someone

oem parts are more then aftermarket

they are also better quality.... call it a rip off, or w/e you feel like, and if you need a blend door the dash comes out. not a 45 min job. more like 5 hrs.

end of the day you get what you pay for.

Sounds like a rip-off when my OEM alternator on my Mercedes Benz is by a better brand AND is over 100$ cheaper than this ford.. get what you paid for? Hmm.

I'm more curious on the ABS codes anyway

from fordparts.com which is official prices.

they will vary from dealer to dealer but if they are selling you a new alt for 321 then yes its a good buy if its an reman then no.

Depending on what your needs are, you can get a NEW alternator from DC Power. Three different levels, 8 different costs. All in what you want...
You will pay more, but you will get FAR better than OEM, and a 2 year warranty.

On the other hand, if you just need to get by for a while. I would get a reman., and save some cash. My factory alt died at 63K. A reman should last as long as my factory alt did!!!

My factory alternator lasted just over 80k, replaced it with an autozone one, truck has 240+k and it still works great.

If it is the blend door actuator then it should take less then a hr.

c1165 c1175 I believe are rear sensor codes if that is the case then replace the ABS sensor on the top of rear end.

All together you are looking at maybe 2-3hrs work and 3 to 4 hundred dollars.
