The new Ford Digital Experience replaces the Sync4 in the 2025 Explorer.
After having it for a month, I can say it has more bugs than a mattress in a cheap hotel.
For example, if the radio was set to Sirius and regardless if it was turned off, it will automatically come on when you restart the vehicle. It dies not do so when any other selection is made. Just Sirius.
The Battery Charging indicator on the right side of the screen comes on when there's no phone on the charger. When there is a phone, sometimes it turns on and sometimes it doesn't.
And before anyone responds that it is something like a phone case, Ford is aware of the problem.

That's just sad.

When I bought our 2020 ST I was very excited that it was a "connected car" and would do automatic updates etc. In the 4 years we've owned it there have not been any meaningful updates which changed features for the better, or added new functionality. It seems Ford is just happy to send an update that won't brick the vehicle, so they keep them very simple, and "unobtrusive".

I have had very bad luck doing manual map updates and have resorted to getting USB sticks sent to me from Ford at a cost. I have done updates on loads of different devices that I've owned and never had issues downloading, unzipping, moving files to USB stick etc. For whatever reason it's been hit or miss with the ST, more miss than hit.

Completely agree. Updates have been for stability, never feature related which is pathetic. You can't tell me in 5 years, Ford couldn't update any additional features or better layouts.
