Hello friends, sorry for the spelling, but use a translator, I'm from chile and I do not speak English but if I'm not good writing
I have a huge problem with my truck ford explorer xlt 4.0. was stopped as 4 years and now we buy a new battery for bosch 70amperes oil change we did so
The van was stopped only by problems with the papers was delayed and then stop in the following years, but was running smoothly before being stopped
We put the new battery and connect the negative terminal began to sound the alarm with the remote disconnect and put the key in on and gave him boot, but not starting.
Then note that the fuel pump is not working and there is no gasoline in the rail injection.Check the fuses, relays, all committed to bomnba of benzene and nothing is still not working.
Then I realized that the key we're using is apparently not the original copy
attached a photo to see it

The owner of the van is an aunt and asked for the original key according to researchers is bigger and thicker, but I always said that I use that key
It turns out that apparently the truck became immobilized by the protection that comes with the factory alarm called something like Pats

When I was under the truck and the alarm active on the board turns on a light that says THEFT , and remains there for a few seconds and then turns off.

How can I tell if this actually immobilized and what are the steps to follow in order to disable this protection?

Hopefully I can help I need to move the van because we changed our house and parked the truck and the only way to move is on foot as it is automatic

hope can help me thank you very much
I should do now? Can resetiar the protection order to start the van?
Also check the inertia switch to cut off this and so the problem is not that

Hola, Elpapo.

PATS is the "Pasive Anti-theft System".

The key has a computer chip inside of it that needs to be programmed at the dealer. If it isn't, the car detects this and will not start.

The dealer can program the key for you, but you will have to pay around 50USD for it.

Thank you for answering the key you see in the photo is the original? or an alternative? There is a way to clear the alarm and start the engine power? Forgive my spelling
I was reading somewhere else that you could reset the anti theft in order to start the car again.
Thanks for helping

and had read that post but did not find the way to start the truck in the state that is now pinned. The key you see in the picture is what I have now but it seems that is not the original then how could re-enter a key code if that code is not?

Finally you believe the problem is the immobilizer on and why not start?

Does the engine crank and just wont start or does it not try and start at all?

crank crank crank crank and doesnt start! becose the fuel pump doesnt start not noise of fuel pump activate.

check the fuel pump relay

Also check the PCM relay and the inertia switch.

Fuel Pump rele is CHECK and Ok
Pcm Rele is Check To and Ok
Inertia Swith Is desactivate Ok to
another idea? please helpme

check for power at the fuel pump, if you have power and the pump still does not run, then it is time for a new fuel pump

Use a test light to see if you are getting current to the inertia switch when the key is in the ON positon. If you are getting current, then jumper the inertia switch to see if the fuel pump will run.

When the inertia switch is activate, appears FUEL RESET in the dash.. my switch is off and Ok..

About de fuel pump doesnt start.. But maybe is caused by the PATS in the truck..
How I can know if is the PATS is the responsable of all this?

Are you getting power to the inertia switch? If not, then it could be PATs related.

I dont think the engine would crank if it were the PATS. Sounds like fuel delivery to me. Check fuel pump connections. If they are good then replace the fuel pump.

If the anti theft Is activated in my truck, it would even crank the engine?

Because my truck is cranking all time but it doesnt start because the fuel it doesnt reach to the riel inyection.

So How can I know if the ANTI THEF is activated or not in my truck! please helpme with this!
should I have a Sign in the dash when the key is in position On?

I have never heard of a anti theft system that deactivates fuel delivery. Only a anti thieft system that deactivates that starter.

My guess is fuel pump but you will get other opinions.

A ver si entendi bien, tu camioneta ha estado sin funcionar durante 4 años y ahora la tratas de encender y no pasa gasolina?

Hahahaha I'm translating, since he says his english is not very good.

"So let's see if I got this right, your truck has been sitting for 4 years, and now that you tried to drive it, the fuel system is not working?"
