I am not shilling for these people - Lorie and Jeff - they have a business where they buy going out of business FORD dealerships and sell the tools etc. They have an E-Bay store and currently have a HUGE selection of factory repair manuals (workshop manuals) for FORD trucks (and SUV's). I will take this down shortly, but when I saw how many of the Explorer, Excursion etc manuals they had I just HAD to alert folks who might want to pick up a set. The FORD factory repair manuals make Chiltons look like a coloring book. Factory new they are well over $100, yet you can probably pick them up for less than half that much on E-bay.... even for older ones. I am posting this as a service to those who might need some of what they currently have.

I can vouch for Lorie and Jeff's integrity. I've been buying from them for years. And no I do not know them, other than as a buyer. Just thought this might be a good chance for folks... this stuff runs hot and cold, and right now is a HOT time!

This is off topic but you do seem to know alot about ford tools, locally there is a rotunda battery tester for sale for $50 is it worth it?

If it is a recent microtronics one, YES, grab it! If it is an older model, eh....

I was wrong ... Midtronics is the manufacturer. The ideal one is their Midtronics model 490... it is small. I am unsure of the FORD number. Even the older one which this is not is a good buy at $50.

Meanwhile I plan to leave this post up for a week then erase it. By then the manuals will be gone. When I run across deals of sepcial interest to this board i will post them here... wherever I find them.

It might be a good idea to have a thread with links for tools that are used the most, such as pressure gauges, battery testers, multimeters, Rotunda specialty tools like the ones for the C3, A4LD, 5R55E, OTC tools, etc. Some of these go on EBay occasionally, but there are other sources for this stuff too (maybe at a higher price, but always available to order).

I'll keep that in mind, maybe start a thread for folks to post "finds" (like this one). I won't post the ones *I* want to buy though - don't want you bidding against me! <g>

With all of the tools that both of us have that we hardly ever use, I'm sure that we could start out own version of EBay on this site. You could call it Glacier Bay (Home Depot's own brand)!

Well actually I am about to sell a bunch of Rotunda tools on E-bay. I think I will offer them here first....

A year ago I would have. people are starting to borrow them more now so I may hang onto my extra sets for a bit.... I do have some AXODE tools I plan to get rid of.... and maybe SOME C-3 tools... like Servo Cover Compressors.... and Low reverse servo gauges

I have 2 seal drivers, and seals, along with some hard parts for the AXOD that I'm not using. That was the first transmission that I ever worked on. I don't think I'll be working on one of those again. I'm more familiar with the A4LD, and have 3 vehicles that use it.

I'll second that. I have purchased 3 factory manuals, a couple of PC/ED's and a stack of EVTM/Wiring manuals from Lorie and Jeff. Always good service and decent prices. Their shipping is slightly slower than some because they usually use the cutrate Media Mail through the USPS - fair enough because it's spelled out that way in the auction.

Tip for cheapskates like me: watch their auctions for awhile as they regularly have 3-day "sales" on eBay at 25~30% off.... occasionally 40% off.

I got an A4LD (among others) factory manual from lorie&jeff. the plastic seal wrap was intact ! bet I can guess one reason that Ford dealer went out of business: THEY WERE'NT FULL SERVICE........LOL. :D
