I have a 1987 Ford Ranger 2.9L V6 2WD and I believe the car is misfiring. I don't believe the timing is advancing properly. It doesn't happen all the time but when I step on the accelerator, my car loses power dramatically, then when I press on it again, it will accelerate for a couple of seconds, then lose power again. At idle, sometimes the RPM's drop between 700-800 and the whole car shakes. When I accelerate from a stop and it is shaking, the car won't accelerate until I floor it. It takes a couple of seconds, then the engine jerks the car forward. The ICM and Distributor was replaced along with the PCM. With SPOUT taken out it has a bad idle. What's wrong?

With the spout connector unplugged, set the base timing to 10 degrees. Then plug it back in and see if that helps.
