hey wolfgang.. is that your company?

i just notice the contact info on that site is a wolfgang also and your both in germany. if your the guy, could you give us some more info such as costs of these. are the explorer ones already made or would they be custom jobs? thanks!

The problem is it doesn't say what years the Explorer locker is for. The earlier ones already have locker capability. It would be nice if the locker was for a late model though. Although with prices starting at $689 and shipping could push the price to $1000, especially if the company is located in Germany. It says to see the Links section for US distributers but the only two links were for a Driveshaft company and a Crusher company. I couldn't find any information on either of their sites regarding lockers though.

will this work for D35 in 1995+ explorer? Its not the same as the 91 to 94.

Just a question, arnt there alot of lockers for the explorers?

Yes its my company !:D
The lockers are already made and availible for all years of the Explorer !
The price is 849$ including shipping to the US, if you order 10 at a time !
Tarheel085 thanks that you like my truck!

The selective locker people have been looking for and is for the Independent Front Suspension on the '95-'02 Explorers.

Do you have one for that application? Also, if you want to advertise your products on my site we'll have to work out some kind of arrangement. Please e-mail or PM me.

Thanks,

Rick

By the way, it looks like you have some great stuff on your site.

Yes we have a locker for the 95 -02 Explorer !
I will contact you regarding advertising ,I am very interested !

that's the answer we've been looking for! last time i looked, there were over 15 ready to shell out cash for one.

yeah that truck is really nice. that "rock crusher" is pretty insane too.

i'm surprised this hasn't gotten more interest. i was pretty excited about it since it fits the IFS front end!

adam.. yes for the rear end, not for the IFS front of the 95+ models. we want a selectable up there!

kevin, yes they are fine. i don't have personal experience with them but they supposedly have good street manners too. lots of folks on the board run those. you can get them cheaper if you look hard.

heh im interested but man i just bought a engagement ring

Translate this page from German to English:

It gives a description on how it works mechanically. It looks good to me... shrug....

I'd be excited, but I've already got a powertrax sitting in my back seat ready to go in on saturday. . .if I like the powertrax I'm sure others will follow suit . . .if I don't i might be interested in this. I'll probably just hold out and get an OX with a D44 attached though ;)

My biggest concerns: 1) If these guys make lockers for as many vehicles as they say, why haven't we heard of them until now? 2) just like an ARB these are going to be prone to air leaks and electrical failures (although maybe not quite as much seeing as it doesn't look like it requires constant pressure [or lack thereof] to remain engaged like the ARB) and I've dreaded investing in an ARB becuase of that.

@Jefe
i do understand you concern

We are not a big company and so we had to start with the European market. Right now we are ready to start in the US market.

You can fix a vacuum leak very easy with a simple tape. You only need vacuum to switch the locker in or out (no constant vacuum). There is no pump, the locker is operated with vacuum from you motor. You have a vacuum source as long as your motor is running. If the motor stalls, you really don´t need a locker. The switch is mechanical and the only elektric part is the control light.
There is no vacuum part inside the axle. It is also possible to change to a cable (cheaper). But in our opinion, this is a step back and we do not like to do this.

haha.. i like that idea! are you doing anything to get rid of the auto4x4 for the powertrax front install? i'd be interested in hearing how you like it. i know that one guy has that unit in his ranger front ("go-offroad" i think) and he liked it but the more reviews the merrier!

soupbone.. congrats dude! you'll be happy you spent the $$ on that instead. :)

and i'm guessing that wolfgang's stuff is pretty darn good.. that good ole german engineering!

Hrmm so this requires a special diff cover for the axle.

Do you have any US distributors yet?

You do not need a spec. diff cover. For some locker we´ve built a cover, for others you have to drill a hole in the existing cover or in the 3rd member (like 9" Ford).

Right now we are just starting to sell our locker in the US. We do not have a dealer over there yet. But very soon I will move to LA. That makes it a lot easier for me and the customers (dealers).
If someone likes to become a dealer, let´s talk about.

HAH! I dont think so. But she says she likes me offroading and such. So the soon to be WAF should be no problem.

Hrmm capital one(tm) is my friend???

So Wolfgang the vacuum engagement mechanism is located outside of the axle. Do you include intructions for a installer?
