Front bumper query.....

is the front bumper on a 97 1st gen Ex exactly same as on a 98 2nd gen ex ??

97-01 bumpers mount the same.. The 98/99ish went to a plastic bumper.. 95-97/98ish was still a steel bumper.

the front bumper mounts are the same from 1996 till 2000 and the bumpers are interchangeable you can fit 1999/2000 plastic to early car and chrome to a later car .i don't know about later than 2000 as we don't get them over here. cheers chris

Am i correct in that the rear bumper is a slighly diferent shape on the 2nd gen ones though ?

hi yes rear bumpers are different they changed mid 1998 but they are interchangeable. but may foul tow bar depending on type of bar a lot of early tow bars needed the step to be removed from the bumper. on the late bumper the step is not removable so you need tow bar that will clear the step.cheers Chris

I have 99 bumpers on my 97... the front one is plastic and the rear one is the facelifted one... both fit without any issues, but I have no tow bar...
