I had my explorer in the shop for a new starter and my guy told me that my front sway bar links are broken... So he gave me a price of 175.00 for new ones and install. Well i want to partsgeek.com and got the Moogs form 30 for a set.

does anyone have a good link for install directions.. i have a buddy whos good with cars and we are going to see if we can do it. I was looking for a link with pictures if possible.

thanks TonyV for the write up... your right it doesnt sound hard - i printed that entire link with the pictures... my buddy as a angle grinder...
did you jack the truck up to get to them?? it looks like a long bolt.. -

? is there a particular order the bushing go in... like all the little rubber things.

Basically it's just a long bolt with rubber bushings at each end separated by a spacer. I think I jacked up the truck a little just to make it easier to get underneath but it's probably not necessary.

Do not use the factory 18 ft/lb torque spec for the Moog replacements.
The OEM link bushings are hard plastic, not soft rubber like the Moog's.
Easy to overtighten and blow the new ones out. 10 ft/lb is about right.

that link said - page not found...
thank you for the recommendation on how tight.. i am probably going to try and do them this weekend.

Im about to remove my fronts... I did on my ranger and loved it. Nothing different except the im about to die feeling when turning fast. So i learned to drive it as it is... A truck.

:D:D:DLOL That cracked me up Bilzy. I don't like the
'about to die feeling when turning fast' very much,
so I upgraded my suspension with all the goodies
I could find.....:)

How are the moogs? I'm ordering some links soon but unsure of which brand to purchase.
