Have you ever replaced the front hub assemblies at 123k? Not sure what you mean by "kick's in traction control". Do you have a V8 with true AWD or the V6 with Control Lock auto 4WD or whatever Ford called it?

New " lady friend's " car. V6 4.0l. I can feel something grabbing and dragging enough to turn on traction symbol on dash. when brake applied, not the same feeling as brakes. unknown previous repair history.

Also, Basic tools and experience only. more experienced with motorcycle repair.

If it has a CV/half axle set up, That could be the problem. Check for torn boots . They sound like worn out brake pads when they go bad..

Boots appeared ok, but will check again. c are hasn't been driven lately ( 7-8months).
Thanks.
