Fuel Filter

i have just changed my fuel filter (previously replaced approx. 15,000mi before). i used to experience a small stutter at idle, this is now gone. would the change help smooth the idle?

is there something else i should check out that would cause the previous fuel filter to perform so poorly?

run some injector cleaner. lucas came out with lucas deep clean fuel system cleaner this really worked for me. heres the bottle

Its possible. A plugged filter can lower the pressure and or lower the volume of fuel getting to the motor. Normally though, it will have problems either at idle and cruise, at higher rpms, or all the time. I don't think I've heard of one having the issues only at idle, but anything is possible.

i guess the flow was somewhat intermittent during all situations, but most noticeable during idle. now with the new filter things are great.

i was just curious if there was anything i could do to prevent future clogging of this new filter.
