I replaced my fuel filter now have to cycle twice to start

So I replaced my fuel filter in my 91 explorer XLT now it is hard to start have to cycle the key twice or three times after it sits for about 10 to 30 minutes. should I just replace another fuel filter because before I changed it it would start up first try every time somebody help

Did you install the filter facing the right direction? That's my first thought. What brand filter did you use?

usually id say the drainback valve thing on the pump, as rick mentioned check the filter.

I used a k&n fuel filter I bought off of Amazon for 10 bucks. And I faced the arrow towards the engine.... That's the right way isn't it?

I just went and bought a new one. I'm gonna try this motocraft fuel filter this time... Hopefully it fixes the issue crossing my fingers....
