My fuel gauge has never worked on my joint. I think its a common problem with these 1st years Expos. I just installed my new white indiglo gauges, and i was bummed that out of them all, the fuel needle stays on E and when I turn the truck off it jumps to 1/4 tank.

Does anyone know what I have to do? I beleive its just dropping the tank and pulling the whole pump and sending unit off and replacing it with one pulled from a low mile wreck or roll over from the pick and pull for only 30 bucks.
I was wondering if I had to do all of those things to get it working properly again. :mad:I dont know how many times I ran out of gas, but luckliy every time its right near a gas station:mad:

:help:Thankz a million for any help.

Yep same problem I had with my 91ex and the only way to fix it is to drop the tank and replace it, I just went ahead on and replaced the pump and sending unit together.

its not hard to do is it? I just need fuel line wrenchs right...
Im thinking of doin it this week since the weather is going to be a lil warm.

No its not hard but make sure the tank is pretty empty before dropping it as a full tank is too heavy to mess with. Unbolt the skid plate if you have one and then unbolt the straps and drop it down. Then undo the quick connects and the holding ring and pull it out. It also helps to have a haynes manual with you just in case.

Yes I have the Haynes Manual,, But I was just seeing if there were anyshort cuts, I seen sum cuts while swapping the Trans.

It has all the skid plates attached from factory,, (even after dropping a 4 foot ledge at the "Locaal fair grounds parkin' lot"

Trans. fluid.

Set your trip odometer, when you get to ~180 miles, go fill it up. I set my trip every time I fill up, I know about how far I can go, I don't rely on my fuel gauge.

Yea my buddy used to do that before I bought the truck from him(when it was stock) but I gotta have my fuel gauge, peace of mind

on the back of the instrument panel, there is a small board the sits vertically called the slouch module. I might have ms that, but ford carries if for around 100 US. Could anyone tell me where to get the gauges?
