How does one remove the fuse block that is on the driver's side of dash?

I have a broken fuse and need to get the block out for better access.

Ideas or suggestions welcome .....

ok--
I think you may need to pull the dash back--and disconnect the bulkhead connectors from the firewall--

I think you might get away with just "dropping" the steering column.

The wires, unfortunately are made to the block. Ford strikes again.

According to 410fortune the wires can be removed from it although I never figured out how to do it.

They cannot be removed with a connector; the wire harness is part of thye fuse block.

I tried to get one ( the block ) from Torrie at Fast Parts Network. Here is his reply:

>>That appears to only be sold with the under dash wiring harness that ranges from $1000-4000<<

I once had to remove some of the lugs from the power distribution panel--

the yellow plastic part needs removed-then you can access the lugs-
Opposite the side where it wraps the spade and isn't together is the side with a release tab-a small flat tool is inserted and this will push the tab down slightly to release it-
In looking at mine-I think once the red plastic is removed you will see in there better--now how to get to it?

Sorry Al, I realize this is a great big issue, I'm trying to help the best I can--

I got the melted fuse ( #20 ) out of the fuse block but I think I fried the GEM module in the incident.
