gas cap....is there a better one?

thinking about my "lean" codes and CEL...I was wondering...my gas cap dif doesnt feel like it locks in.

My wifes jetta's gas cap goes "click click click" when tightening...mine doesnt...just one click.

is there a better sealing replacement?

I've wondered if I can easily swap a later single click Gen II cap for the multi click old school cap in my 1995. Is the filler cap and retainer easily removed from the filler neck and swapped? Anyone done it?

I believe your '01 cap only has one click...

Yep, 1 click. Are you sure your lean codes and CEL is coming from a poor seal on the gas cap?

I got a Locking one that clicks as much as you want it too I'm confused how the Gas Cap could have anything to do with a Lean condition. The fuel isn't pressurized till after the pump so the tank really doesn't have to be Pressurized. Corret me if I'm wrong on that Logic? I hate that stupid Code. I've had it for about 2 years.

Oh yeah, I'm stupid. Now I'm really interested. Maybe I'll try and get the old cap from my dad. He took it off when he owned the truck to protect his tank.
