gas tank vent hose

What is envolved in replacing a 03 explorer gas tank vent hose. Ford has run a check on my car and wants 409.00 to replace a cracked gas tank vent hose. What problems can I expect if I so not replace the hose.

I would think that you can expect emissions related trouble codes which will cause you to fail emissions testing if required in your area. Are you sure that the hose is cracked? Did they get a code or find it visually?

I'm short on time now but if no one else can find a procedure for replacing the hose I'll look around later today. Good luck.

Mine is an 04 and dont know how to replace the vent hose from gas tank help please ty
