Well im looking at my gauge cluster and i noticed that my altimeter and oil pressure guage are not to where i believe they should be.

For one after starting the truck the altimeter gauge is in the middle but after driving for a little while slowly it moves to about the L where it says normal. i replaced the starter, have a optima yellow top installed, a new altinator (130amp) and battery terminals. im out of ideas.

Problem 2 is that the oil pressuse guage acts wierd as well. It also does the same thing. it burries it self slowly as i drive around on the L where it says normal. but i checked the levels and it checked out fine. im wondering if i have a kink in the oil pump hard line or something.

any suggestions would be most helpfull. i drive my x everyday and i love it. its a 92 XL Sport and it runs awsome aside from this little issue. i would just like to know what if this is normal or if something is on its way out. thanks
Bryan

Hello, and welcome to the site. The oil pressure guage isn't very accurate for checking oil pressure on the explorers. It mostly just works or doesn't,I think it only takes about 5psi to move the needle to where it sits. There is a thread on here somewhere on how to fix this.As for your voltage you should check it with a multimeter and see what you really have.I would think this time of year(your alt. puts out more in cold weather)you should have around 14volts with the engine warm at an idle.
