Gauge said no oil pressure when cold

Every morning when I start my truck up (00 302 awd) my oil pressure gauge goes crazy and move up and down til it's warmed up. Sometimes it stays at low but there is no knocking of any kind and she runs top notch. I'm thinking it's the sending unit. Any other ideas?

Change your oil pressure sending unit. Same thing happened to me.

Have the same problem and same motor. Change the sensor. If you actually had NO oil pressure youde notice a banging in just a few seconds.
I have a sensor sitting here but havent wanted to install it at 20 degree's.

Yep, add me to that list. Scared me the first time, i turned down the radio and waited for some knocking, but it never came. ha...
