Hi Guys

What speed can you feel your torque convertor lock up on a level road on a gentle throttle?

Also if you are travelling at 70mph and let your foot off the throttle and then gently accelerate again does your gearbox stay in fifth. Mine sometimes comes out of fifth and the torque convertor unlocks.

Thanks, Kev.

i would push the O/D and lock up will always occur at normal speeds, but on the motorway when in 4th mine does lock in as you take your foot of the gas you can feel the engine slowing the car and the revs on the dash look locked. (very slow decreasing RPMs).

hi kev,not more trouble i hope
I have a slight delay when first starting the car ,when shes rolling it seems pretty good ,and stays in top mate when I back off ,I recon between us we could make 1 good gearbox lol guess those without problems be better to reply

i think my box is ok, at 70mph if i lift off nothing happens the ex just keeps going, it takes ages to slow down, same thing on slight incline and decline almost no engine braking at all,if i am in top and let off, then go back on the gas she is still in the same gear unless i kick down.

not sure if any of that helps.

Thanks for the info guys.

Hey Rich, perhaps the only good bit in my gearbox is the new oil! lol.

I've finished putting the extra oil cooler on and I'm taking the caravan out bank holiday weekend. Fingers crossed it doesn't try dumping the new fluid all over the place.

Kev.

kev ,what caravan you got I have a bailey senator and love it ,havent towed it very far yet but im sure itll upset the old girl when I do

Hi Rich,
I got an Elddis Typhoon EX2000.
Weighs 1300kg. Big end washroom.
Just fitted a power mover. Biggest remote controlled toy I've ever had. Really good bit of kit.
Have a look at www.powrwheel.com.
One week to go before I try straining the gearbox. Gulp.

Hey Rich, shall we start a thread on 'Who tows a caravan with an Ex'? Don't want to clutter up the threads if people don't think its interesting.
Kev.

my old caravan looks like something from international rescue, we even call it thunderbird 2 lol

but it sort of suits the ex.
