Generations

I hear people on here refer to explorers as "first generation, second generation, etc. I am assuming when a major body change occurs it creates a new generation.......so which generation is a 2000? (second?)

2nd gen ran 95-01 (generally speaking). The two door version ran a few more years past that.

You have a 2nd gen (my favourite generation personally).

95 to 97 is 2nd gen part 1
97 to 01 is 2nd gen part 2
02 to 05? is 3rd gen
06? to 2010 is 4th gen
2011+ is just crap.

this is for 4 door models, 2nd gen sports lasted til 2003, it gets pretty complicated, but you pick up on it after awhile
