ok well i have a lifetime balance and roatation thing for my truck at wal-mart..... I figure if they can do anything i think they can do something as simple as rotate and balance some tires....
but before i went i maked each of my tires so i could check to see what manner they rotated them in.

i went today to have my tires rotated and balance , and as soon as i walked in and told them what i wanted, the mechanic was sitting down on a bench, and he said "oh great!" i guess to the thought of rotating and blanacing tires....
then he proceded to say "its going to be a while, we got 1 car in the bay and 2 in the lot already" and this *hit face was sitting down, and they only had 2 hours left to be open...

But it gets much worse.

the guy then went on to say "i'm going on my break"
what a lazy bas*ard!!

so i killed about 1 1/2 hours at wal-mart. then finally went to check to see if it was done yet......i got it back, only to find when i got home that all they did was clean the tires with tire black, all markers where on the same tires in the same postions...

i'm pissed not only did they waste my time they were ****y about doing some work too!

just had to vent

thanks
ryan

O man, that really sucks...Usually when I have something done with less-than-top-quality-mechanics (which would only be with tires/alignment, everything else i do myself) I ALWAYS bring safety glasses with me and stand right next to them while they do whatever they do...They hate it, but you can stand there as long as you wear eye protection...That way you know what they are doing to your vehicle...

Elite

Old Sam Walton is probally rolling in his grave:(

yea, this is exactly why i don't trust paying for people to do work on my truck, i mean they know i won't know if they do anything to it , thats why its there because i can't do what ever i am having them do.

anyways,
i'm going there tomorrow and i'm going to talk to the supervisor because that was crap....they wasted 2 hours of my time, they lied, and the guy was really ****y. they won't be happy to see me tomorrow thats for sure!

Go get um buddy:mad:

Have fun with it too:D and give 'em hell... Good that you marked the tires to see...

hmmm look at it this way, you might get something out of it. hopefully to make up for your mental anguish ;)

yea
i just want my tires rotated properly....
going to stu in my anger over night and tomorrow at work then go raise hell.

any suggestions on what i should say are welcome

thanks

that is bad business practice....... at work, when we are comfortable not doing anything, and than a car comes in wanting warranty work, we hate it, but we still do it, properly..... i do admit though, in any business, not just the tire/car industy, people will always find a way to screw someone over... i take extra special care whenever an explorer comes in ;) i never know if it might be one of you guys or not ;)

Well I know some things you could say, but I shouldn't really say those here...

You could be sarcastic about it, and at the same time be a jack-@ss, if you understand what I mean

Or you could say what jimabena74 said

well understandable so, but hey if they think they are going to screw me like they tried to today, oh man they got another thing coming

should i go there or call them on the phone?

calling would be easier because its always easier to get angery on the phone, also they might try to give me some **** just because i'm a kid, well 19, not really a kid but just because i'm not older they will try to walk on me....

go in and asked to see the store manager...and complain until they oblige.... (by complain, i mean make a huge scene, i bet they wont mess with your truck anymore, just check the gas tank area for sugar after they do the work this time;))

i would go in...with an adult(dad, uncle, etc)!

Wal-mart does horrible work, but if you complain to the store manager, they usually will try and make it right. A friend of mine went in to get a set of tires and it ended up taking 2 days of sitting in Wal-mart, but he got a set of 31's for $100 and like 10 free oil changes.
Same at Sam's club, if they mess something up, they will make it up to you

Definately go in and talk to the manager.

Good Luck

so everyone agrees that i should acutally go in and speak with the manager?

yes, and buy a shotgun on your way over to the automotive section :D

Definetly go in and talk to the manager. I had the same thing happen at Tread Quarters and I went in and made a scene. I ended up with a free oil change out of the deal. Raise hell until they give in.

Nope.

Speaking to a store manager will get little done. Yeah, they might throw something at you to make you happy, but what's to say the next time you go in the same thing will not happen or happen in another department. The fact that employee felt that they could brazenly be lazy and poorly serve the customer shows that there is a problem with the hierarchy at that store, top to bottom. There's a good chance that going to the store manager might only piss you off even more. Hopefully this person is an exception to the rule at the store, but you never know. It's a greater benefit for you to assume it's a storewide epidemic.

My advice is to ask for the contact information of the regional manager from either the person you were dealing with (ideal) or the store manager. If they try to get you into a dialog of what the problem was, simply say that you had an issue with one of the employees (name them if you would like) and you feel more comfortable speaking with the regional manager about the incident (that’ll get his or her butt to pucker). Start as high up as possible, you get more for yourself and you will get more done in the long run (for yourself and others). Also, if you go to the store manager and he doesn't satisfy you, you're forced to go to the regional manager anyway. When he or she calls up to find out what the issue at the store was, the store manager will more than likely try to save his own butt by saying that you came in with an attitude and that they couldn’t do anything to please you. Then everything gets thrown back on you and the issue (issues in the long run, for every customer) go unresolved.

That's my thought.

I've had problems before and the mere thought for an employee or manager of me going to a regional manager made the necessary appeasement, of course, I still followed through because they need (the company) to know where their problems lay. Correcting problems will never equate to avoiding them in the first place.
