going from 33's to 20's....

well im just tired of tearing up my sport trac and breaking stuff so i think im going to make it into a luxury truck like it was meant to be...
right now im running 33x12.5r15 with a 3" body lift and TT
looking to keep the lift as it is.
what kind of wheels do you think would look good on it?
probably a 20x8 wheel
looking to get around a 32-33 inch tire, A/T most likely, still want the 4wd to get me through the winter with no problems

pretty much changing due to the weight of the tires...
i dont have enough power to pull a boat with my current setup, seeing each tire is 68 lbs plus the wheel...
would like a good towing setup with good looks
any input?

nope, my superduty with 37s on 22s is a much heavier tire/wheel weight than the 37s on 17s.

Changing to a lower profile and not an MT tire will probably save some weight though.

Are you regeared? If not, going with the same tire diameter isn't going to change the "power" your truck has.

Yeah dude I think your best bet is to suck it up and re-gear. Don't go wheeling if you don't want to break stuff. I haven't been at all since I moved out here since I no longer have an extra car or bike if something breaks. I'm normally fairly easy on my stuff though.
Re-gearing will make a world of difference. If you want to drive mine some time you're welcome to, hell you can pull my trailer around with it if you really want to see how it pulls after being re-geared.

well id like to go 20s just so it has more of a luxury look
with nice wheels itd keep me from wheeling.
probably around a 32" tire, a nice a/t tread
no more roaring tires, hell i couldnt even hear my bad wheel bearing till i swapped out to my stock wheels.
for anyone intersted they weigh at least 80 pounds each and wouldnt be worth shipping on your part, id hate to see that bill

i had my 92 explorer lifted on 33x12.50s but i took all the lift off when i put the 275/45/20 wheels & tires on.. i mounted the 20s with the 3" body lift still on and I would think a 275/55/20 would be alright because the 45 series was still a little small for mine. since youve got the TT on your truck got atleast a 55 series

Oh yea and i forgot to mention, i have some 22" TIS wheels that you might be interested in. I had them on my trac for a little while. You can even get a 33x12.50 for them in A/T or M/T from Nitto, Super Swamper, Toyo, and a few more i think because i was going to do it at one point. I've just decided to start a project cuz i'm finally buying a mustang and going to make this my mud toy for awhile

33x20... you would need a 305/55/20 (33x12) or 275/60/20 (33x10) tire. That's the only two sizes I know of.

But if he wants to keep an "off-road" look with big wheels he can buy 33x12.50r22 tires in a lot of different A/T and M/T tires from nitto, interco, toyo, etc. Or if he installs another lift you can get 35's in just about anything.
