If you keep your alignment in good order and rotate your tires every 6K-9K, I would go with BFG AT/KO's. They have been known to last people 40K-50K, sometimes longer...

i was realy looking at the sts's but i dunno if a 31x11.50 will fit good with a tt and shackle , i think the width of it will cause it to rub the fender

All-terains and mud really don't mix, but the best A/T I've seen in the mud are by far the Dueler Revo

I'm running the regular Dueler A/T

and they work great on the muddy rocky roads out by my grandfather's farm.
The TRXUS M/Ts are closer to a A/T than a M/T in my opinion and they have gotten good reviews as far as milage too. I'm getting a set for my F-250.

I used to have the BFG T/A KOs. They were brand new on the truck when I bought it with 68,000 miles on it, and I just replaced them with Bridgestone Dueller H/Ts at 125,000 miles. I definitely could have gotten more than 57,000 miles out of them if I had rotated them regularly and kept my alignment correct. Definitely a great tire... Excellent rain/snow/mud traction, but kind of noisy on the highway at 65 mph or higher. If I planned on keeping my Explorer for another 40,000 miles or more, I would have bought them again in a heartbeat.

has anyone had those super swamper STS's yet? Im curious to how long they'll last compared to other AT's. They're supposed to be a street worthy tire with excellent all around off-road ability... but will you get more than 20Kmiles outta them?

i still wanna here more about the Sportiva AT

The sportiva AT looks better/performs better than the BFG... but they dont make them in 35's...

Those STS's look cool as hell

"TrXus STS - All Terrain

The TrXus STS, the STS stands for Three Stage Sidewall, is a new concept in all terrain tires. These tires are not intended to be a substitute for the Super Swamper or Bogger tires but a tire for you if you spend a lot of time on the street. Besides working so well on the street it has good off road performance and excels in snow and sand. It is also very much at home in the rocks and will impress anyone with its all around performance. This tire is going to set a new standard in the all terrain category.

lol thats what im saying. Ill be royaly pissed if someone tells me they last at least 30Kmiles ... cause i just bought 35" BFG AT's... and they dont look nearly as cool as those tires! (i frowned when i took off my Xterrains for the BFG's.... the xterrains looked sweet as hell... but 100miles/day wouldve killed them )

Man...I wonder how much those cost, they're sweet lookin' Anybody know an online place to price 'em? That website of their's is worthless.

Man...$520 for 31.5x10.5x15, including shipping. That ain't bad at all, considering Revos would cost me almost $600 from Tire Rack. Too bad I'd have to find 15" rims and get rid of my stock 16"s which I really like. Oh well, I don't need tires, my Wrangler recall tires don't seem to have worn at all in the 15,000 miles I've driven since I got the truck.

Well i just ordered a set of Firestone Destination M/T's
fs_destination_mt_owl.jpg
they are rated the highest out of the mud terrains at tire rack so i thought i would try them out

i'm really considering ordering a set of 29 * 10.5r15 sts's just wondering if anyone has bought them ? i need something that is inexpensive and works well bfg at is way too pricey for me.

ive got some bfg at's in a 33" and love them

if i ever bought an all terrain again it would have to be the trxus sts's. i love the look and its quite an aggressive tire for being an all terrain. i once had a set of bfg at's and i absolutely hated them offroad. but thats mostly b/c i spend alot of time in the mud and they were pathetic in the stuff.

at's=crap in the mud...and whoever said trxus MT are more like an AT...what? way better than bfg mt in my opinion...i got the trxus mt's and they rock...nothing like an AT though...a lot louder and rougher (though quite & smooth compared to a bogger, tsl bias, etc.)...i might get 30,000 miles out of them and chunks are coming off...sts would be sick though...and they are awesome in the sand...post pic's...i might also add, pirelli scorpion AT's are awesome as well
