Here's what I just did: Bought RFX8320 head unit and pair of FRC1257 2-way speakers from Crutchfield for $285 delivered. No, Rockford doesn't make the greatest head unit. But, it had what I wanted: simple controls, clean look, no flappy face or fancy graphics, 3 preamp outputs. It sounds exponentially better than the premium factory system, and now I can play CD's. I put the FRC1257's in the front. They are 5x7 speakers and fit right in. Eventually I'll replace the rear speakers, add a sub and amp the whole thing. What I have now works fine for me. The cost was decent, not the cheapest, but Crutchfield has great customer service. Within 1 hour of ordering online they emailed me and also called to advise I needed to file the opening for the head unit. I got everything I needed to do the install including complete instructions. I saved over $130 for merchandise alone over buying from a retail outlet up the street, plus the satisfaction of installing it myself. There's always something better and cheaper that someone else can get from somebody else. Buy what you want, when you want, from who you want. Ask yourself what you want, what you need, what your budget is and go for it. I vote for Rockford. If you are looking for validation for Sony you find it on this site, although my Sony TV works for me. It's not HDTV or 4000" wide or supermariostereo but Speedvision is on 24-7.
