Got back 5R55E after rebuild...

So I got my truck back today...shifts great. I addition to the rebuild they had to replace the case because my servo bores were worn (servo pin wear) and the mechanic said this probably caused a lot of the problems I was having.

Yeah, I broke the 2nd/OD band.

All is well now!!!

Oh, by the way, that high-pitched "whine" that changes with RPM's and that I thought was the transmission pump is still there. I'll have to look into it more. Wouldn't they have caught a bad pump?
 












Brooklyn, no they replaced the torque converter...at least I was charged $275 for one on my bill!!! It HAD to be replaced...I no longer have a shudder!

Heh, the shop owner said they make a repair kit for the 5R55W but not the 5R55E. I should email him that page. Thanks!

I forgot to say that I was wondering if anything can be done to reduce this wear even a bit, like running Amsoil for instance.
