OK my Procomp leaf kit came in yesterday, Now, does anyone have any tips to make the job quicker? According to the instructions I need to remove the spring assembly from the truck. I didn't realize that when I ordered them or else I would have ordered some shackles also. Since I want to do this on Saturday, it's too late to get shackles. :(

I think you meant this to be under 'Suspension, lift...etc'. I put new springs on with the 4" lift and with the exception of soaking the bolts with WD-40 (or ???) and getting a cheater bar to help out with leverage and perhaps a hammer :hammer: ( your truck, you choose the size :D ). It's pretty straight forward stuff( got air tools? ). Unbolts shocks, unbolt perches.. axle drops down, reconnect everything using your new stuff. If you are planning on doing the shackles, you might want to reconsider waiting. You won't be totally doubling the work, but you'll have to unbolt the springs again( where they join the shackles).

Easiest way is to have someone else do it, but then all the fun of cursing :frustrate and future scars are now out of the picture.

What!? Let someone else touch my truck!?

Thanks Goober
Since I have at least $30K in mechanics tools just lying around collecting dust, I might as well put them to use. I was just wondering if anyone has done the add-a-leaf on the truck, as opposed to taking it off and putting it in a vise on a workbench.

BTW Where can I get Shackles and what is recommended?

I was able to install mine in no time. Before installing them, the only experience I had with the rear suspension was putting on the shackles and replacing the shocks. I did not have to take them off the vehicle, just unbolted and put them in. Was pretty simple and realitively quick to do. I got my shackles from a local store for about $15 and have never had any problems with them.
