Being a Surf Fisherman, this is what we all dread. Fortunately it looks like a Chevy!

Silly fisherman Tahoes can't swim!!

"like a rock" aleast the way it floats...hehe

Man, that has got to suck. I feel sorry for that guy. Last time we went to Florida a guy in a 4runner or Pathfinder was playin around on the beach and backed up to the water to get his waverunner in the water and the tide was coming in and it sucked all teh sand out from under his wheels and buried the back tires until his bumper was on the ground. Had a big extended cab Ford come and literally "pop" him out of the hole ;)

"Hey, I thought those ventvisors were supposed to keep the water OUT!"
hehehe

Hey, I just found the disks I had all of our Florida vacation pics on and I found the picture of the guy in the sand...

Dad was gonna go down and offer to help pull him out but we had our front wheel drive minivan with us, plus theres nothing to tie onto...

Actually its a Honda Passport in the second pic. If it were an Explorer, 4Runner, or Pathfinder, it probably could've gotten out. My brother drives a Toyota Tacoma. We were camping in Estes Park, CO and the campsite below us was basically the drainage area. It was nothing but wet sand. He back in, and sank the whole rear end in, spun it a lil in 2WD, and covered his tires (31's). I thought I'd have to hook up his Toyota to my Explorer (that would've been a nice picture) to pull him out, but he put it in 4WD and just drove right out. Like I said, his tires were completely sunk into the wet sand. And he got out!!!!!!

but...

From the sounds of it, your brother had 2 wheels on solid ground... not the case on the beach there.... if the tide was still coming in, You can bet the pucker factor was at about 8.9 at the point the pic was taken! :)

I bet he started using a local ramp after that. :)

Doesn't look like too much made it over the bumper, though.... maybe a little damp carpet, but I doubt it was anything a little sun and a power wash couldn't cure. :)

As for that Chevie.... that's gotta hurt the pocketbook..... insurance doesn't cover that kind of damage either.... as soon as the wheels hit the water, you're on your own! That's gotta suck....

I HAVE RETURNED!

My computer has decided to walk out on me, so I havent been able to get on here for 2 days. I tell you, 2 days away from this board is hell on a person.

About the picture...
We were getting ready to go down there and see if there was anything we could do, but then that huge Ford rolled up and the guy just strolled over there and tied his strap onto him, then just jerked him right out. I could've swore his tires (Passport) came off the ground. I bet he was relieved :)

man that has to suck what kind of damage would you be looking at

What funny to me about the first pic is, everyone is just standing around and taking pics. No one is really trying to help. It looks like a f-350or f-250 is in the back ground.=, and i'm sure it could help. But i'm sure no tow hook could stand that much weight. But maybe i'm just to nice and i like to help out. lata

HAHAHAHAHAH! That's what I was gonna say!

Yeah I was going to say, that is odd that nobody is trying to help, jsut standing around taking pictures. That would make me pretty mad to see everyone standing around taking pictures of my sunk truck. I bet that Dodge pickup and Durango could have pulled him out a little bit, as long as he didnt bottom out the axles.

Rod (aka Sinjin) Goes to the Beach

Sorry, I couldn't help myself...:D

The thing is that when you get a pass to drive on the beach, you are required to have a certain amount of equipment in the truck. (at least up here in the NY, NJ area because the sand is pretty soft). A tow rope is definately mandatory.

I had my Autohubs go on the beach last year and I couldn't get off the beach. Luckily a guy with an F-150 pulled me off.

That would get me pretty mad with my truck stuck in the water and nobody helping me out. The guys in the background taking pictures is CLASSIC! Oh, I'm sorry, I have an Explorer not a Chevy piece of Garbage :)
