grounding amp

hey everyone i have a 02 explorer xls where would the factory amp be located if i even have one and where would be a good place to ground my amp for my subs

you always want to ground the amp as close as possible.
The shorter the ground wire the better.
 






Any bare metal spot can be used as a ground. The best place is on the chassis itself. Just make sure that you sand off any paint or finish on your grounding point.
 






yeah, closest is best but only when its closest and the best

sorry for that- but what i mean is if you have to go a few extra feet to ground to something which is more "ground" do so.
 






you can probably find a good ground where your seats are bolted in on your 2002
 






what about the location of fords factory amp in the 02 xls models is there one and where is it
 












um if memory serves me right the 02's don't have a factory amp, but I'll let someone with a 02 tell you that. I just know at some point they quit putting factory amps in and started using internal amps in the head unit, possibly 99 they stopped?
