H.I.D. Color temp - is there a difference

Black Magic - Is the 'blue' type light still adequate in snow & rain? I don't want to spend the money and be dissapointed.
Thanx

Mike,

I do not have just the "Blue, HID "like" bulbs. I have true Phillips HID conversion kit. This includes the HID bulbs, Ballists, and HD wiring. They are great in any condition! I really can't speak for the "Blue Bulbs."

Just nitpicking, but Philips doesnt make a "kit". All sorts of companies may use a Philips ballast and call their kits a "Philips Kit". Beware. Make sure the bulbs are of quality and are molded to the base, not glued.

As far as the blue bulbs are concerned, take a look at this article:

Black Magic-

I know you don't have the 'blue bulbs'. By blue I meant the higher color temp HID. The lower temp HID is more of a white light. I am looking at the catz HID conversion - I am just trying to decide on the color :)

Mike, I would suggest the 4500k that catz make. When you get into the 6,7,8,10k+ it too much blue and as you go higher turns to purple.

That is correct. The higher the temperature, the more beam scattering and less output you get...

not yet. You still want it for the price we discussed?

as much that I want them... grrr... i cant do it. i have to behave and calm down a bit on spending area. i am almost 25 still living at home. i would like to move out someday lol!

i am commited my self to "no more toys". its not going to be easy because the new amd "hammer" is comming out this year and i want that too with a water cooling case...
