Had the oddest symptom. Think its the neutral safety switch.

I got another one today that has never been mentioned or solved on this forum. When I was at the beach yesterday a strange symptom appeared. I lost use of my blower motor, and both my turn signals stopped working. As I investigated further I discovered my blower motor stopped working only when in reverse or neutral, or if I tried to use one of my turn signals. Imagine that electrical issue. Use a turn signal and the AC stops working. LOL. Anyways after driving 2 hours home with no working signals, I went to sleep and did some troubleshooting this morning. What I discovered is that fuse 5 (according to the Hayne's Manual) in the cabin fuse box was blown. After further troubleshooting steps, only when I put my car into neutral does it immediately pop the fuse. The lights dim for a split second before it pops. After tracing some wires, I disconnected the purple and orange wire from the transmission connector plug under the hood on the driver side and it stopped popping the fuse when I was in neutral, however, now my reverse lights don't work. This leads me to believe it's a neutral safety switch, even though my car still can start up in both park and neutral. Does anyone have any other ideas before I drop money and try to figure out how in the hell to remove this part that's all tucked away on the transmission? For additional context, once I replaced the blown fuse, everything functions properly again except for my reverse lights that no longer come on.
