big dave: i will for sure. i might be headed out to Stoddard Wells this weekend but i dont know yet. ill PM you if i do. did you redo the front suspension of your truck too? i noticed all your stuff for sale. what did you have done?

yeah i went with camburgs edge front end kit but swapped out the dual shock thing for 8" 2.5 kings, got some glass and a bumper too, ill let you know when i get some pics up on here and how the rear end rides with those deavers, think im picking it up on thursday

How about a cage? With a suspension like that (ince the deavers are done) I would think a Sport would benefit greatly from a cage (save drivers life) and other safety equipment before you mobb it too hard...

nobody mentioned the spring over axle would also not help center of gravity much for this type of wheeling.

i got it at 4 Wheel Parts. i dunno if they have that store around you but thier website is www.4wheelparts.com. its not on the website but they can order it. call them. it was like 100 bucks shipped to me.

410: a cage is in my trucks future probably. but first i gotta glass the front, gear it, and put some Deavers in. In that order probably. and ill stay spring under. alotta ranger guys on Dezert are converting to spring under with that Giant kit, so i guess i got an advantage. thanks for the compliment.
 






they sometimes do SUA because you can fit a spring that has more arch which = more travel without the added lift height, kind of like flipping your shackles on rangers
 






gonna de-virgin-ize the X this weekend at Ocotillo. should be fun. all the DezertRangers guys will be there, so ill probably get to see some nice trucks. :) :thumbsup:

no pics. i came in at 230 am fri nite. then i woke up sat and i wheeled it down this sand wash haulin ass. it handled nice, i even dropped it off like a 4 ft ledge. so smooth.

yeah it sucked pretty bad. gonna drop the tank today and make sure i got voltage to the pump.

it was crowded where we were at (by the Blue Inn mini mart), but there were spots where you could go that wernt so bad. there were alotta maniacs there haulin ass thru campsites being inconsiderate and stuff. but thats to be expected. htey even airlifted 2 poeple outta there on saturday. the helicopter landed right next to our camp.
 






yeah that is to be expected at ocotillo on any holiday weekend, a bunch of drunk dumbasses with motor vehicles. not a good combo. how long did you wheel before it broke?

yeah you pretty much summed it up there. haha.

i got in to ocotillo at like 230 in the morn (left fri nite). i just parked it and went to sleep. then i woke up at 9 and thought id take it for a run before i packed it back up (i slept in my X). so i went down the main road hittin woops and what not. then i turned into a deep sand wash and hauled ass down that thing for a good 15 mins. dropped it off a 4 ft ledge in the wash at like 40 mph which was pretty sweet. then some dumb ass came around the bend driving on the LEFT side of the road on his quad. i didnt know which way to turn so i locked em up (no ABS now) and swerved right but then he went to the right side so i brought it back on to the wash but got the explorer sideways and buried the tires pretty good. the sideways sliding created some nice trenches. as you know once you stop in those washes its hard to get goign again cuz it just buries to the axles cuz the sand is so soft. so me and my buddy spend the next ten minutes digging hte tires out to get goign again haha. then i turned around and went back.
when i got back to camp i packed up and was goign to got to glamis for a couple hours to ride in my friends rail. when i got on the main road from camp it just died. then i got towed back to the cap site and chilled there and rode dirt bikes the rest of the time. my dad came with the flat bed sun morn. thank god for him. my dad is a nice guy.

that was my trip right there. it was fun even tho i didnt drive my truck alot.
 






please dont tell me you jump that thing with those subs/amps back there...

he put suspension on the subs and amps too so they handle quite well.

yeah my friend rolled his tacoma on its side one time hitting the breaks and swerving to get out of the way of some idiot on a quad out there, sounds like you had a good time even though the truck broke down
