Sorry if this has been brought up before. I did a search and did not find much on it. I was thinking about buying this stuff to bring back my headlights from the yellowish look. I have used rubbing compound and wax and Blue Magic. That stuff works for a little while but seems like it does not hold up.

I saw this stuff in one of those Seen on TV stores at the mall. Could this be used on steel and aluminum wheels, or are aluminum wheels too ferrous?

Enlighten me to what Ferrous is :D My headlights are the greatest either.

Non ferrous metal is metal that doesnt have any iron in it. and is not magnetic thus non ferrous metal is more resistant to corrosion

aluminum in its self is a non ferrous metal so your wheels should be fine but who knows what other elements they put into it.

Any metal that will not create a spark, when held against a grinding wheel, is non -Ferrous I:E it will not burn
Flitz, and Maas, are two european polishes of great quality, both will make aluminum wheels take on a mirror finish, if they do not have a clear coat which most do.
If you have untreated, non-ferrous metal, both are very good
Another great polish is never-dull, is a cotton impregnated chemical that will make the outer rim of a real mag wheel look like chrome.
I dougbt that many on this forum have dealt with real mags

If the rim is clearcoated, will this stuff still work or will it make the clear coat come off and look ugly?

nothing will polish a clearcoated rim, you can wax the clearcoat which is just a urethane finish, if you want to polish the metal, you need bare metal

Flix is the best polish I ever used, great on brass and other soft metals, also really good for polishing scratches from an i pod, or watch face glass, I bougfht it on qvc years and years ago, it lasts a long time and I use it often, its really very good stuff!

has anyone used their product on painted surfaces?

Not me mate, I would never use it on paint- it may be too aggressive, I use wd40 on my paint work on the car to remove road tar, and then wash, then wax- thats all.
What marks are you hoping to take off your paint?

Used it, works great!

I used it befor but isnt the best..mothers billet polish works alot better and gives a smoother shine
