Does anyone know how in the heck you remove the rear hatch panel (inside part of the rear hatch) from a 1999 Explorer? It's a frickin' nightmare. Thx.

Gently pop the top edge out, held in with tension clips.

Slide bottom half forward towards front of truck. Don't pull straight off or they will snap. This is what they look like.

welcome

JOE DIRT!! Thank you!

Is the small rear cover below rear window supposed to be for some optional kind of handle or lock? mine is similar to Joe Dirt pictures, but I have seen a few that they have a litte different configuration there.

Regards.

No, on the '98+ the plug to the side of the hump is solid. On the pre '98, they have a lock indicator button poking through (a-la the doors) showing if it was locked or unlocked. The center one is always solid, it just allows access to the window lock assembly.

I understand now.

Thank you Master!
