heat/ac panel selector problem

Alright this one is driving me nuts. My vent selection knob has gone mad. No matter what selection its on the air only comes out of the defroster. i've checked fuses, messed with vacuum lines, and even took the panel off and cleaned the harness. Any ideas? maybe i missed a vacuum line?

note: did an engine swap a couple months ago and thats when the trouble started.

THANKS! I did a search but somehow missed that thread! Guess its time to put the play clothes on and get dirty.

followed everything in that diagram but there were no leaks or loose connections. Reseated them all just to be sure but still nothing.

Not sure if "following" is called for... you need to take off the connection at the motor and check to see if it gets vacuum when called for (either your finger or gauge for a test).

by following i mean i traced all the vacuum lines. checked at the motor to its working just fine. i'm going to take the whole system apart peice by peice tomorrow and troubleshoot everything

Can you get your hands on a manual so you know where all the vacuum lines are and when they are supposed to have vacuum? Did you check the vacuum reservoir to make sure it was sound? This shouldn't be hard to find with a good manual, a vacuum gauge, and some patience.

Alright guys this ones killing me. I never did solve this issue. Everything is getting vacuum. All lines are solid and in place. The resevoir is sound. I cant help but think i missed something even though i've gone over it all several times. Any more ideas? It's getting cold and my hands and feet are starting to hate me.
