Heated mirrors on 02 Sport

Are the mirrors on the 4dr the same size as those on the 2dr sport? I'm thinking of getting the signal/heated mirrors for my X. It sucks having ice on your mirrors.

Also how hard would it be to install them.....would I need to splice anything? Thanks in advance.

They must be the same if they don't say for a certain model. Keep in mind this is just the glass, not the entire assembly. You would have to splice into your signal wires and rear defrost.

I asked that question of my ford service pro. He said that the heated side mirrors were only on the "Limited" model for my '01 Sport. He claimed the wiring harness was not equipped to operate the heated side mirrors except on the Limited.

Maybe you could do a write up on how to splice into the rear defroster

surely you can still splice into existing wires even though the wireing harness doesn't provide premade access points. I'm interested in finding out of this works out for you since I have a 01 x sport myself.

I spliced into my rear defrost switch and the mirrors heat fine.
