Heater control valve issue in a 1997 Aerostar with A/C.

As an FYI my "backward" mounted vacuum servo has been working perfectly fine for almost a year. The only thing I did was unscrew the vacuum piece and mount it the opposite way. The actual tubes are facing the original direction.

It looks as if the vacuum servo can't be un-mounted from the valve on at least one version of the assy. Good to know that some of them can be re-configured. Thanks for the update.

I'm glad I checked in here before trying to replace the valve on my 95! Now, my van has rear heat, so I'm wondering if it's still the same valve. Really, I want to bypass the rear heat anyway, as the van's been converted to permanent work duty. -adam

AFAIK, all Aeros '94-on have this valve, regardless of whether it has rear heat or not.

'93 and earlier don't have a valve to the front heater core.

All with rear heat have a valve for that rear core, located under the van behind the driver's seat area.
