Hey Forum!
I have a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT, V6 4.0L 4WD and just noticed some coolant leaking by front right wheel well. After doing some looking under the car, the coolant seems to be dripping from what I believe is the heater core.
One of my friends recommended using Stop Leak for a temp fix, but when I take the radiator cap off and turn the car on, the coolant isn't circulating.
Drove it for a while today and the temps seemed just fine but no circulation... Any ideas what is up or what I have to do so I can get the Stop Leak in there!?

One member posted his method of using a camp stove to heat a big pot of water. Using a pump he circulated the warmed water-liquid glass mixture thru the heater core via 2 sections of regular garden hose. Be sure to put a little restriction to the discharge hose, this will create some pressure which will help fill the hole. You should be able to find a 12v boat bilge pump for around 20.00. Possibly wal Mart

Autozone sells liquid glass. This is the only sealer I would use.

When you are finished be sure to burp the system well, This is the one mistake people often make when breaking open the coolant system.

You need to get the front of the truck up real high, high enough to raise the radiator cap higher than the heater core. Burp the system at least 5 times-by running the engine until warm and waiting for the bubbles in the overfill reservoir. then relive the pressure at the cap, and refill the radiator. repeat this until the radiator stays full. Squeezing the hoses will also help to burp the air out.

Pull of heater core "IN" hose on bulkhead in the engine bay and pour that stuff straight in there. Re-connect hose, start engine heater on full hot. Then refill rad if needed. Quick fix, dunnit myself until i replaced core.
