Can't figure out why my switch gets very warm after 5 minutes of continuous operation, any suggestions? The power source is fused off a car stereo 8 gauge wire and ran through the relay provided in the hella wiring kit. Thanks

Make sure the relay is all wired up properly. You run the positives on the lights to the relay, ground the lights, a wre from the relay to the ower source, wire from the relay to the switch, ground the relay. For the switch Ground it, and run the other to power. I hope this helps. I remember when I bought the hella 500's the instructions to wire them up were not correct.

I am 99.9% sure it is wired correctly the wiring diagram that hella gave sucked but I pulled one off the internet when I did the install.

Yea I had to mess with mine for awhile to get it correct

so another question I am using 12v from the back of the radio to power the relay for the hella switch and the remote wire for my amplifier could it be that the 12v form the radio is sending to many amps into the switch and causing it to overheat? I also noticed that the relay in the engine gets super hot as well.
