- '08 Sport Trac XLT 4x4 V8
Hello all
I am supposed to pick her up tomorrow, if the dealer can make the dealer trade otherwise it may be Monday morning. Using the Costco discount which appears to be about $1500 off the sticker price.
But I committed to a 08 XLT with the V8 and 4x4. Apparently there are only 5 such available in the whole state, the one that came closest to my choices was 500 miles away in Susanville. My top choices were the dark green with a moonroof. A few green ones are available but only 4x2s with a V6. They appear to not want to sell V8s here, they get the same mileage.
So I get a dark blue with no moonroof, but the 4x4 with V8 was my primary needs. This truck is only 100 miles away right now.
Getting excited as I have not bought a new truck in 25 years. In the past I have had a 66 International Scout, a 76 Chevy b**zer, a 79 cj7 , a 94 Bronco XLT and our current 74 VW Thing. Other than the scout the Bronco was the most reliable, always got me home with no lingering problems.
This new Sport Trac will be the truck I plan on retiring in, retirement is only 5 years away. We plan on leaving So CA and moving back to the mountains maybe even Canada.
cheers,
Tom
