Hello! I drive a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport. I need some help with it. I have some questions about winter driving. Where do I post that?

"Stock 3rd gens"

An owners manual will give you a good briefing on winter conditions for your model.

I'm no 3rd gen guy, but it would be important to know whether your truck is 4x4 or AWD (All Wheel Drive) for example.

Although driving in winter conditions will not be noticeably different from a 4x4 to an AWD vehicle, how exactly to operate the system properly will be.

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

Since you have a Sport (2 Door Model), you should check out the stock 2nd gen sub forum:

Stock 1995 - 2001 Explorers Questions related to non-modified 1995-2001 Explorer, Mountaineer, Ranger and '02+ Sports and Sport Trac. Problem solving, maintenance, TSB, service bulletins, owner reviews, specifications.

Good luck & Happy Exploring! :wavey:

I don't know. Shouldn't things posted in Year/Gen specific sub forums be about those VEHICLES themselves, not cluttered up with general driver's ed stuff?

It sounds like the OP was asking "How do I drive a car in the winter?" not "How do specific winter-driving related systems/parts/functions in my specific Explorer work?"

It sounds like the OP was asking "How do I drive a car in the winter?" not "How do specific winter-driving related systems/parts/functions in my specific Explorer work?"

I realize that the question was generic.

There are reasons why I pointed the OP to the vehicle specific sub forum:

The sport handles differently than my 4 door model, I have automatic 4x4 and have know idea what was available on the sport, etc.

I figure who better to ask how to drive a sport in the winter than sport owners?
