Hello!! I hope someone can help me! Just changed the rotors on my 93 Explorer... and there is one last thing... these "half snap rings" and they WILL NOT GO ON. Any suggestions???

i put the ring on most of the way with my hands, then used the end of a flat head screw driver, and hit the other end with the palm of my hand, went right on.

ok... and the shaft seemed to pull out just fine? this doesnt seem to be working for me.

yeah, put the tip of the flathead in the grove of the axel end if there isnt enough room, and push the handel towards the engine, this will pull the axel out a bit giving you enough room, then you put the ring on as much as you can with your fingers.then put the tip of the flathead on the ring, then hit the end of the screwdriver with the palm of your hand and it should snap onto the axel.

Does it happen to matter if the inner and outer baring are switched or are they the same? would this prevent the C ring from going onto place? it is out by a 16th of an inch from getting it on there.

the barrings are all the same, it sounds like your not pulling the axel out.

So..... finally got the last snap ring back on, but now the anti lock brakes are making noise every time I stop and its only right before its come to a complete stop. Anyone know what this is? and how to remedy it? PLEASE!!!

Did you get the right rotors with the abs ring? Did you damage the ring at any point? nd what kinda noise is it making?

Its making a noise like " raa--oooo" sounds like stepping on a cats tail, or like the kids say the car is farting!!!

well when i changed the rots on my ex the king pin somehow got pushed in a bit and it made it really hard to get the snap ring on maybe that is causing the noise?

I just changed both rotors and pads a month ago in my X. I had a tough time getting the inner seal off to get to the bearings. Don't remeber dealing with a half-snap ring.

My ABS is doing the same damn thing. Usually when I am backing up and almost about to stop, the ABS activates like it would on ice.

Probably a bad sensor. IMHO.
