I'm not trying to build the ultimate system here, I just want better than what I have . I have a '96 XLT which had the base stereo in it. I now have a Pioneer DEH-P300 HU which has 50w x 4. A friend gave me his 6 disc changer from his 96 and I got a 10" RF Sub (I know it's not the best, but it'll sound better than without it!). My questions are:

1. How do I hook the CD changer up?

2. Is there an amp in my rear trunk area? If I do have a stock amp, is it powerful enough to drive my RF sub?

3. Are my door speakers being driven by the stock amp? If so, am I better off powering them directly from the HU (how?) and letting the amp deal only with the sub?

4. Any recommendations for the sub box? Do I have to get a stealth box or is there a cheaper alternative for a 10" sub?

I've always hooked up my own HU's, but this is getting beyond what I have a clue about.

Or should I just take it to a shop and let them install everything? I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I know nuthin' Thanks,

Anyone with some advice? I'd like to tryand at least hook up the cd changer this weekend? Thanks,

It's definitely worth letting a professional shop do. They can bypass things properly and tune the system for you.

It shouldn't be that much labor...your not asking for anything fancy.
