Im looking for a fog light for my grill guard. They say either SR5 or SRS on them. I know i have seen them online and on a car on the road. Does anybody have a link or a site that i can find them at? Im looking for lights for my birthday in december so any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance. :)

You'll have to give us a little more info if you expect to have a happy birthday.

What is so special with these lights? Many choices to make a killer B-Day, why are you limiting yourself to these?

nothing too special about these lights. I think they were under $100. I like the look of like the PIAA but i dont have that kind of money to spend on fogs. So instead of it being the black grill on the light with PIAA on it, its the black grill wqith SR5 or SRS on it. If i cant find these im just thinking about asking for some Hella 500, they look like a good light. Any body else have any suggestions for lights under $100?? thanks again!

You are looking for black, round "fog" lights. What color light do you want. Yellow or white? (I think white is best)

Now you are on the right track. You are looking for a light with a cost of less than $100.00. Next question is do you want a fog light or a driving light?

wow u guys are really helpful. most sites i go to and u dont know exactly what u want they complain to you. thanks so much.

the light is going to be going on the grill guard. Im not sure what the difference is. What do all of u run? im probably going for looks. not doing too much off roading. maybe just throw out some light suggestions, i know im liking the hella 500.

Fog Lights

I use Hella 550 fog lights. They are good quality, but moderately priced. Their only fault is that the white plastic stone shields deteriorate and crumble after a few years. The 550's are rectangular and the 500's are round. Which shape you choose is a metter of personal preference.

I would recommend fog lamps instead of driving lights. Driving lights may not be street legal in your state. Fog lamps cast a wide beam which illuminates the side of the road. I find this helpful, especially in areas where there are critters crossing the road.

Amber or clear? I don't know. I use amber lamps on the grille guard. Amber is supposed to cut through fog and rain better, though some people say they just cut down on the light output. Ideally, the fogs should be mounted low, like on top or under the bumper, but every time I've mounted fogs under the bumper they've gotten smashed, so I went to fog lamps up on the grille guard. Because of the higher location, I chose amber lamps to minimize glare reflected back at me from fog and snow.

Choose a name brand and you will be happy. I've tried no-brand auto parts store lamps and they are junk. The molded glass lenses are thin and the hardware rusts.

Ditto on the Hellas. Double ditto on the Piaas. I do like the auction Bill put the link to. Starting bid $65.00. Buy it now $66.00. You actually have the chance to get these at $1.00 off.

I don't see the advantage to buying them off e-bay. For about $76 you can get them from any mail order place with no auction hassles.

Regarding wiring: there are several options. The Hella web site has downloadable wiring diagrams. Caution: Some states require auxiliary lamps to turn off automatically when the high beams are turned on, so choose the appropriate wiring option. (Here in NJ, my old 92 with 173,000 miles passed everything, including emissions, EXCEPT for fog lamp wiring and burned out side marker lamps (which are genarally ignored and a pain to replace). Pretty funny joke on me, but easily fixed.)

You can get cheapo round lights in the black grille style (and chrome too) at wallyworld and many auto parts stores. Shop around and I'm sure you'll find something you like. They all cost under $100 cuz they're cheap.

I would definitely agree on the Hella 500's if you wanted a round lamp. They are extremely high quality compared to the cheapo lights, especially in the lens, which is where it matters. Get the clear fog lights so you can use them when driving in town, since a driving light is only good when other cars arent around or off-road. I've seen Hella 500's for $50 at Circuit City with all the auto acessories, so maybe check that out in your area, but even $60-75 from a store or online is a good price for a quality light.

KC lights are excellent quality - both with their harness and lights. They have top notch customer service as well......I've got a pair of their projector lights mounted as back up lights, and they cut through anything....the light up the whole road if I turn them on (when no ones behind me out on back roads)...

Best of all, they were 40 bucks off their web site under net specials....

However, for the front I plan to put a pair of PIAA's in.....just because their 6'' slimlight is a lil large to fit in my openings...

ok guys thanks for everyones help. i went with the Hella 500s because of price and they were what i was acually looking for. Maybe ill be able to get pictures up sometime. Thanks again for the help, this site was great!
